As you look at this momentous photograph, I want you to focus on the people in the audience who were able to witness a historical event and leave inspired to promote positive change in their world. What communities, neighborhoods, schools, churches, and cities will these people impact? Today, we watched MLK's speech during class and we took collaborative Cornell Notes on google docs (with our groups). As you enjoy your three-day weekend, I want you to think about that Essential Question that was at the top of your Cornell Notes. How does Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s message resonate with us today? What or who should we serve, fight for, or give a voice to TODAY? Let's be people who impact, act, improve, speak, change, and DO.
